Concessions Equipment and Supplies:
1. How big of a popcorn popper do I need?
The size popcorn popper kettle you need depends on a couple of things, space needs, budget, power requirements, and capacity.
- Home Use: 4oz to 6oz Popcorn Poppers
- Bar Restaurant: 6oz to 12oz Popcorn Poppers
- Snack Bars: 8oz to 12oz Popcorn Poppers
- Schools: 8oz to 12oz Popcorn Poppers
- Theaters: 16oz to 36oz Popcorn Poppers
- Popping Plant: 36oz to 66oz Popcorn Poppers
2. What is a 4oz, 6oz or 8oz popcorn popper kettle?
Popcorn popper kettles are rated based on the amount of popcorn they can produce in a normal 3 minute popping cycle. If you have a 4oz popcorn popper kettle and put 8oz of popcorn in it, it will take much longer than 3 minutes to pop. Also the quality of the product will be affected because it is too much popcorn for this sized kettle. In this case more is not better. Over stressing a 4oz popcorn popper kettle with too much corn can also cause drive motors to fail because they are not designed to handle that much corn.
The size of the popcorn popper kettle indicates how much corn you should put in the kettle to pop a perfect batch of corn.
3. I have black carbon build up on my popcorn popper kettle, how do I get it clean?
Carbon build up on the kettle of a popcorn popper is caused from oil burning on the outside of the kettle. To remove carbon build up apply Kleen Sweep to the outside of the kettle, let it soak for about 30 minutes then wipe off.
4. Now that I have the popcorn popper kettle clean, how do I keep it clean?
Carbon is formed because of oil burning to the out side of the kettle. Liquid oils are prone to this because they have a much lower burning temperature than a solid oil. Coconut oil is an excellent oil to use because it tastes great and has a very high burning temperature.
5. Where can I buy parts for my concession machine?
We sell parts for every machine we sell. Give us a call and we will be glad to assist.
6. How long does it take to pop popcorn.
It can take 3-4 minutes to pop popcorn in one of our popcorn machines. If your popping cycle is longer than 3-4 minutes you should have your popcorn popper kettle serviced. It could have a thermostat or heating element not working correctly. It could also have a warped kettle casting. It is important to keep your popcorn popper kettle maintained.
